Prayer Requests for Hearts of Hope, Ukraine October 2021

Ecclesiastes 4:1 Again I saw all the oppressions that are done under the sun. And behold, the tears of the oppressed, and they had no one to comfort them! On the side of their oppressors there was power, and there was no one to comfort them.

  1. Alex and Dasha will be married on November 5th. Pray for them as they begin their new life together as man and wife. We are so thankful that they have the desire to help us in our mission here and want to serve God by caring for orphans. Having been orphans themselves, growing up in orphanages, and experiencing the same type of trauma, they are perfectly suited to minister to others who have experienced the same backgrounds. God is building a POWERFUL testimony to His grace and LOVE in this beautiful union. May God be glorified on their wedding day and throughout their marriage as they bring comfort to others who are less fortunate.

  2. Please pray for the orphans that we minister to, who experience unimaginable oppression. Pray that the Holy Spirit would open their eyes and ears to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ and come to know the savior of the world. Help them to come to true repentance and faith in Jesus and to lay all their sorrows at His feet. Pray for us as we come along side them and bring Christ’s comfort to them, tangibly. Protect them from the oppressors who want to use and abuse them (traffickers, government officials, directors of schools and orphanages). Pray that they will continue to be sanctified in God’s grace, to be members of a Bible believing church, be able to work and sustain themselves financially, and create loving families of their own.

  3. Pray for our safety. Ukraine can be a harsh place to live, especially in a village where corruption runs rampant, roads are bad, and health care is practically non-existent. Pray that we might stay safe on the roads, as people drive fast and recklessly. Pray for our health, both physically and mentally. Pray that we might be kept safe from those who may want to do us harm, specifically those who want to continue their system of oppression. Pray that we may have wisdom in everything that we do and say.

  4. Pray that we will continue to look to Christ for our hope and strength especially in times of loneliness and difficulty. Pray for PATIENCE as we work gently with orphans who have been brutally mistreated and abandoned. It can take many years to see true change happen.

  5. Pray that we would be able to finish our building project which includes: a kitchen, dining area, living room, more bedrooms, 2 more bathrooms, and a recreation/worship room. We need prayer to finish the roof!!! Pray for honest, and hardworking roofers to finish the project! Pray for the finances to complete the project, including the doors and windows. Pray for Andy Bolland as he comes to help Greg in the spring on continuing building projects.

  6. Greg, Bonnie, and Sophia head back to Ukraine on October 29th. Please pray for traveling mercies.

  7. Our general fund could use some replenishing for upcoming normal operating expenses. If you would consider giving your “end of year” donations a little earlier this year, in October or November if possible, it would greatly help us out. Thank you for your continued faithful support! We could not do any of this, without your prayer and financial support. You may mail checks to our treasurer at: Hearts of Hope Ukraine 32 Mahlon Ave Gorham, Maine 04038

Thank you for remembering us and praying for us even when we are not in your presence. With Love, Greg and Bonnie
